In the morning, while the young children were at school, Apollonia was the family housekeeper, the one who took care of the housework and inebriated with succulent perfumes the entire building. During the rest of the day, on the other hand, she was the sweet, caring and attentive nanny of the little Francesco, Nicola and Virginia. She was the one who went on taking care of those children until later in life, whom her eyes saw grow up over time and who in turn took care of her until the end of her days.
